New illustrations for Rumletum kids book

Just posted some sample illustrations for a children's book written by my husband Ross Woodfield. Rumbletum is a story about a little creature with a big appetite! And he uses his rumbling tummy to call all his friends for a scrumptious birthday feast!

The last day of the summer hols!

So the six weeks have just flown by, and I think the Boo has had fun! I certainly had more fun than I had expected! We just all need to get back into routines again now... Easier said than done. Oh, and I have a pile of school things to label. But on the bright side, I don't need to shorten anything.. The boo is growing so fast that even long skirts look like miniskirts on her!

So the summer holidays are almost over

So the summer holidays are almost over,
And I for one feel a mixture of melancholy and glee. The main sadness is that my little girl will never be six, and paddling in rock pools with new found friends, finding crabs and giggling again. Next year she will be seven, more like seventeen, and I dread to think of a time when she is so independent that being with her parents being silly will not feature anymore. It's not that I don't want her to grow up..I do. I want her to be independent, free thinking, strong minded and happy, of course I do. I also just want to grab a little piece of her and keep that part in a little box. Just I write this, she jumps into the room, saying "the postman has been" and brings me a little card saying " I love you mummy".. Maybe I'll just keep that to help me remember her as a beautiful six year old!
